Business Analyst 

Job Description 

We’re looking for management consultants to join our fast-growing and dynamic practices covering both the South West & Nationwide. About You 

You may be quite new in your career, or have a few more years under your belt. Your experience may have come from consulting, working in industry or the public or charity sectors. You may be a business analyst, project manager or co-ordinator, or already established in consulting. You’ll have experience in managing projects, analysis or supporting change and have the capability to work directly with our clients and partners. You’ll have a professional ethos in line with our values, strong skills and a collaborative approach. Due to the work we do, you must also either have passed or be able to pass security vetting.

i3Works is a small but fast growing consultancy, specialising in project/portfolio and change management. We work mainly with the public sector, across the UK. We’re a values-led organisation, and we care deeply about delivering real value for our clients. 

The work will be varied and stretching, and you will be working from our Corsham office and client sites. This may mean travel and sometimes staying away from home for a few days at a time. 

You will use your skills in analysis, change and project management to lead, guide and influence stakeholders and teams to deliver real value for our clients. This is an outward facing role requiring effective consulting skills and client engagement together with well-developed collaborative working practices and a solid understanding of analysis, change and project management.

Responsibilities 

Management and delivery of plans to ensure all necessary preparation and execution tasks and dependencies are included, and performance is adequately monitored 

 

A key requirement of the role is to upskill in the use of the data modelling and visualisation tool BOXARR. i3Works have formed a strong partnership with BOXARR and the individual will need to maintain relationships ensuring regular upskilling sessions take place and the knowledge is shared within the company 

 

Work with key stakeholders to manage the deployment of all aspects of assigned projects including scheduling, risk, resourcing and data modelling 

Operate as a full member of the team, supporting other colleagues and client team members, as required 

Help develop a BOXARR centre of excellence within i3Works 

 

Development of relationships with suppliers and customers; joint working in virtual and co-located teams 

 

Marketing our capabilities when required, including business development activities 

 

Assisting with bids and peer review 

 

Strategy and business planning. Helping us to shape our business and future direction. 

 

Maintaining and developing the highest standards of client relations 

 

Support the growth of the business and coach junior members of staff 

 

Active engagement in on-going development of your own skills, in line with our training, coaching and development activity 

 
Requirements 

Experience of, or capability to learn: 

  • Delivery of projects, with particular emphasis on the management of suppliers and stakeholders 

  • Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and keep a cool head under pressure 

  • Strong people and communications skills are required in dealing with a wide range of customers, partners and colleagues 

  • Strong analytical skills with a solid ability to persuade and influence senior decision-making 

  • Ability to cope with a challenging workload, leading on your areas of responsibility within the context of a multi-disciplined team 

  • Comfortable moving between very large and small projects, working in small and large teams as required 

  • Confident, articulate and a self-starter; who can work with minimal supervision and be relied on to deliver results; comfort with ambiguity and able to reliably direct own work as required 

  • Willing to become proficient in the data modelling tool, BOXARR, developing enough confidence to be able to deliver demonstrations to prospective clients 

  • Upskill in the tool in order to deliver outputs and benefits to potential clients as well as internally 

  • Will represent the company with integrity and professionalism, exhibiting our values 

  • Someone who isn’t afraid to get involved, but knows when to seek support 

  • Management of projects and change, ideally with appropriate qualifications such APMP, Prince 2 or MoR 

  • Knowledge of operational excellence or process improvement approaches such as Lean or Six Sigma 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, comfortable with Microsoft Office 

  • The ability to travel throughout the South-West is essential, as is working away from home from time to time 

  • Must have the right to work in the UK and be able to attain security clearance. i3Works are not currently seeking candidates who require sponsorship 

 
Desirable 

  • Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile environments 

  • Experience of different industries and sectors 

  • Knowledge and hands on experience of data modelling tools/software
