Consultant - Business Change

Job brief

This is a key position within our business; we are looking for the right individual to help enhance our Business Change capability and offering across our business. The successful candidate will be a key part of our Business Change engagements, supporting the broader team as well as offering subject matter expertise for business development activities as and when required. As part of the wider Defence team, the successful candidate will support and contribute to the strategic direction of the business and the department’s performance against our ambitious growth targets.

Responsibilities

  • Make a positive contribution to the development and delivery of Business Change Consultancy function within the business and particularly, within the Defence sector
  • Deliver positive professional assignments, consistently surpassing client expectations
  • Implementation of best practice methodologies within both Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge through attendance of industry events and attainment of qualifications as well as supporting the development and knowledge gain of less senior team members
  • Provision of ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ states, supported by appropriate change approaches
  • Benefits Management including reporting, and analysis against user requirements
  • Support broader business development as and when required
  • Serve as an ambassador to the business’s capabilities with a view to supporting future engagements
  • Make valuable contributions in the assembly and/or delivery of high-quality tenders and/or bid submissions as required

Requirements

  • Experience in defining, managing and delivering within complex projects/programmes/portfolios
  • Leading programme assurance reviews on projects of increasing size and complexity and in the delivery of major business and change management solutions
  • Proven experience working in a Change role within a highly regulated environment
  • Fully conversant with continuous improvement and benchmarking methodologies
  • Experienced in implementation of benefits management, quality management, blueprint design and delivery principles
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and influencing skills across stakeholder groups
  • Ability to identify key areas for continued personal professional development
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams; maintaining a high level of both performance and delivery
  • Candidates must be willing to travel occasionally in line with project assignments
  • The suitable candidate will be expected to achieve Security Clearance

Desirable

  • At least 5 years relevant professional experience
  • Recent experience of working within the Defence industry
  • Appropriate qualifications (APMG, Change Management Institute, PROSCI or equivalent)
