Senior Consultant – Assurance

  • Salary: £45,600 - £57,600 / year depending on experience

This is a key position within our business; we are looking for the right individual to help build our assurance capability. We will expect the successful candidate to lead and mentor our staff on various assignments and to help develop new routes to market. In addition, actively engage in business development activities as and when required. To support the senior leadership team and to input to the strategic direction of the business, and help meet our ambitious growth targets.


  • To assist and lead the development of assurance within the business
  • To ensure the successful delivery of client-facing assignments
  • Support work winning and overseeing the assembly of high-quality tenders and/or submissions
  • Implementation of best-practice methodologies
  • Have authority on all aspects of control, planning and programme management, building cases for change where required
  • Implementation of requirements for project planning, cost recording, reporting, and analysis
  • Lead on governance and provide direction to ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Identify, evaluate and drive key innovative and creative opportunities
  • Market the organisation’s capabilities and win work with clients to support growth
  • Maintain and develop the highest standards of client relations including major client account management
  • Maintain and report upon a consultancy sales pipeline with a focus on assurance-based consultancy offerings


To fulfil the requirements of this position, the ideal candidate is expected to:

  • Lead and develop discrete pieces of work assessing if programmes adhere to strategies, policies and standards
  • Collaborate with project and programme sponsors
  • Analyse project and programmes processes, products and performance against business case and benefits plans
  • Communicate with stakeholders and influence their decision making with outputs from assurance activities
  • Analyse project and programmes assuring they adhere to strategies, policies and standards
  • Design and implement controls and measurement systems assuring quality products are outputs
  • Lead and develop stakeholder reviews and audits against written quality plans


  • Circa 5+ years consultancy experience
  • Experience in assurance within TfL or similar is highly desirable
  • Full member of APM, possibly working towards Fellow of APMAPMP/APMQ Practitioner
  • PRINCE2 - practitioner
  • Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) – practitioner
  • Management of Portfolios (MoP) – practitioner
  • Hold, or able to achieve Security Clearance (S/C)
