Senior Consultant - Business Change

Job brief

This is a key position within our business; we are looking for the right individual to help build and develop our Business Change capability and offering across our business. The successful candidate will be expected to lead and mentor staff through a range of Business Change engagements, helping develop new routes to market as well as, utilising subject matter expertise for business development activities as and when required. Supporting the senior leadership team, you will have direct input to the strategic direction of the business with responsibility for delivering against our ambitious corporate growth targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and influence the development and delivery of Business Change Consultancy within the business and, particularly within the Defence sector
  • Ensure consistently successful delivery of client-facing assignments within Agile and Waterfall project environments
  • Implementation of best practice methodologies, serving as a subject matter expert within the business, knowledge-sharing within the Change team and wider business
  • Function as an authority on all aspects of Business Change, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Management and the development of cases for change
  • Implementation of requirements for Benefits Management including reporting, and analysis
  • Support the business development pipeline, overseeing the assembly of high-quality tenders and/or bid submissions
  • Lead on project governance appropriately, providing direction to ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Identify, evaluate and drive key innovative and creative opportunities
  • Market the organisation’s capabilities and win work with clients to support business growth
  • Matrix management of diverse project teams
  • Maintain and develop the highest standards of client relations including major client account management
  • Maintain and report upon a Consultancy sales pipeline focused on delivery of Business Change-based consultancy offerings

Requirements

  • Experience in defining, managing and delivering change within complex projects/programmes/portfolios
  • Programme / Portfolio delivery resource profiling and structuring
  • Lead programme assurance reviews on projects of increasing size and complexity and in the delivery of major business and change management solutions
  • Expertise in the development of business change strategies
  • Fully conversant with continuous improvement and benchmarking methodologies
  • Implementation of benefits management, quality management, blueprint design and delivery principles
  • Demonstrable effective communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to identify key areas for the department to develop capability
  • Ability to bid manage complex proposals and provide technical assurance of bid costings and scope, leading bid teams and opportunity pursuit teams
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams; managing performance and delivery
  • The suitable candidate will be expected to achieve Security Clearance

Desirable

  • At least 15 years relevant experience
  • Recent experience of working within the Defence industry
  • Full Member of relevant professional bodies such as APM or CMI, likely working towards Fellowship/Chartership
  • Appropriate qualifications (APMG, Change Management Institute, PROSCI or equivalent)
