Requirements:

• Significant involvement in the delivery and control of programmes / projects is essential for all roles however for senior roles a leadership background is necessary.
• Ideally the applicant should have relevant PM Qualifications (PRINCE2, APMP/APMQ, PP&C). For senior roles a degree or equivalent in years of experience is essential.
• Lead by example, is skilled at influencing at all levels building strong and trusting relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Promote being different and respect diversity, breaking down silos and territorial behaviour to promote collaborative working and strategic partnerships to develop mutually acceptable solutions.
• Able to develop deep insights into the strategic context of the organisation you sponsor a culture which supports innovation and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of curiosity which facilitates new lines of thinking, original insights, and breakthrough business ideas.
• Driven to deliver, rapidly analysing tangible and intangible information to obtain critical insight, inform decisions, provide direction, in order to create and seize opportunities.
• Current UK MoD security clearance is necessary, DV is highly desirable.

• Location: Typically hybrid working, but able to work in the Bristol area (eg Corsham, Abbey Wood) some days each week when necessary.

Core Skills: 

• Responsible for identification of existing account growth – land and expand mentality to be percolated throughout delivery teams. 

• Responsible for maintaining existing customer relationships, addressing delivery issues and escalating as required. 

• Responsible for managing and working collaboratively with our delivery partners. 

• Responsible for addressing issues related to resources when delivering to customers. 

• Accountable for billing performance e.g. are we hitting utilisation targets. 

• Responsible for operational reporting and MI production in line with drumbeat 

• Accountable for the protection of the business's reputation both to its employees and its clients and the wider market. 

• Responsible for maintaining Security Operations (SyOps) in line with the policy and ensuring that the business as a whole is adhering to and understands the SyOps policies. 

• Supports and owns where appropriate ISO standards in line with strategy. 

• Responsible for upholding and applying HR policies.

Role Summary 

As a Senior User Researcher, your core purpose will be to help investigate user behaviour for public and private sector clients, while working on internal digital projects. You will plan, design, and carry out research activities with users that help teams develop a deep understanding of the people who use those digital services and products. You will be collaborating on projects with Business Analysts, UI/UX Designers, Developers, other User Researchers, and stakeholders both internally and externally. 

As a Senior User Researcher, you will lead, advocate and manage your profession. You’ll be responsible for managing a growing User Research Team. You will be required to participate in commercial exercises which include bid writing and response evaluation – on your profession. 

You will use strong interpersonal skills to consult with colleagues and stakeholders, including more senior managers, to solve issues. You will be expected to make decisions relating to the most effective business modelling required in the circumstances. 

• You’ll be confident shaping rigorous research projects - drawing from best practice styles and methodologies to inform the best possible outcomes. 

• You have respect for tried and tested ideas but are keen to push boundaries and break new ground. 

• You’re pragmatic and hands-on when it comes to turning ideas into reality by adapting and evolving sets of tools and techniques to collaborate across disciplines. 

• You believe in the long-term application of Human Centred Design and digital technology, holding informed opinions on emerging trends like Circular Design or the implications of AI. 

• You can have the ability to engage in usability testing and design iteration. 

• You are naturally curious, creative, and motivated to deliver excellent user experiences.  

• You will have an open mind and positive attitude that inspires others to achieve amazing things. 

• Adaptable team player with good time management and multitasking skills. 

• Ensuring solutions comply with the law and policies. 

Core Skills: 

• Excellent oral and written skills needed for facilitation, presentation and report writing. 

• Strong capability in research design, conducting research, data analysis and synthesis, storytelling, user testing and critical thinking. 

• Lead user research and/or service design projects in Agile and GDS 

• Experience in leading research for services or products at different stages of the Product Lifecycle (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, and Live) or equivalent. 

• Able to design an effective research approach whilst considering project constraints. 

• Able to identify and use appropriate techniques to effectively communicate insights (e.g. personas, user journey maps, presentations). 

• Strong collaborator who has worked in multidisciplinary teams, such as Business Analysts, Content/ Interactions/Product Designers, User Researchers, Product Owners etc. 

• Good technical understanding of digital service delivery and operations. 

• Comfortable presenting and leading large working groups as well as conducting 1-2-1 interviews at all levels. 

• Experience of problem-solving and working with others to deliver at pace. 

• Experience making decisions within agreed parameters. 

• Experience working with Agile methodologies and scrum teams.  

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 

• Comfortable working on multiple projects and managing changing priorities. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and equivalent User Research software. 

• Mentoring and training experience in human-centred design, co-design and digital innovation. 

• Facilitated co-design workshops and research workshops to map journeys, personas and prototyping. 

A bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Psychology, Social Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 

Desirable: 

• Experience working with JIRA, Azure DevOps, Maze, Hotjar, FigJam/Figma, Miro 

• Experience working in or with both large and small organisations. 

• Experience writing commercial bid responses. 

• Quantitative data analysis. 

• Hold security clearance or could do so. 

• Flexible working – Remote and onsite where required by the client or i3Works. 

• Experience of setting up Community of Practice events, talks, workshops

• Previous consultancy experience in a similar role 

• ITIL Foundation Level qualified 

• Demonstrable experience working within an ITSM environment using the ITIL framework 

• Demonstrable experience of involvement in Service Management governance  

• Demonstrate an understanding of SIAM 

• Personal flexibility and agility, with the ability to deal with complexity 

• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities with experience at senior management level 

• Strong and influential relationship management skills with Senior stakeholders, suppliers, colleagues, and users in pursuit of delivering high-quality services whilst maintaining service targets 

• Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate resilience to ensure the correct solution is selected with full understanding of the costs, timescales, and risks 

• Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. 

• Ability to hold Security Clearance 

Desirable: 

• Defence or Public Sector experience 

• High level of IT competence with an aptitude for learning new technologies and processes with a focus on ITSM tooling 

• Excellent negotiation skills  

• Knowledge of ITIL Service transition and design 

• Knowledge of ITIL Continual service improvement lifecycle  

• Experience within a SIAM environment
