Project Summary
Defence Digital (DD) is currently transforming from product-based IT provisions to a service-based model. Within this transformation, the Emporium programme seeks to implement cloud hosting capabilities, for which i3Works were engaged to: (i) establish a managed service provider and customer services, (ii) to manage provision of cloud hosting for defence customers, (iii) prepare the Emporium programme for financial approval, and (iv) to progress the programme from definition phase to delivery.
To achieve this, i3Works matured existing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) ways of working within Emporium teams, to establish one of the first teams within Defence to successfully apply this approach, and deployed over 50 highly-skilled resources to rapidly add value and transfer knowledge.
Outcomes and Benefits
- Exceeded programme business case forecasts to bring 83 services into use within 18 months
- Achieved approval of £100m main-gate business case
- Rapidly deployed more than 50 highly skilled resources across the programme
- Developed a tailored stakeholder communications and engagement strategy
