i3Works is pleased to announce that it has been contracted to support the delivery of the MoD Cloud Hosting Environment.
Working within the Application Services & DevOps Tower (ASDT), part of the MoD’s Information Systems & Services (ISS) organisation, i3Works and its technical partners, CACI, will bolster an already strong team with capability in AGILE Delivery, Customer Management, Communications and technical DevOps expertise.
ASDT are one of the first teams in Defence to fully adopt an AGILE way of working which will significantly improve development, deployment, speed and value within the technical development and Cloud Hosting environments.
The department’s approach to Defence Hosting services was published within the ‘Defence Cloud and Hosting Strategy’, the strategy sets a direction towards the use of cloud services for the delivery of Digital and Information capabilities. At a defence level, this principally supports the strategic goal of transforming Information Systems & Services (ISS) and wider ICT provision from product-based, to a service-based model.
Brigadier Sara Sharkey, Head of ASDT comments, ‘the deployment of Cloud Hosting and related services such as application development services are key enablers in our overarching ambition to provide better value, rapid development and a more agile, customer-focused way in which to develop and deliver our services. i3Works and their partner CACI will be key to the successful delivery of this programme’.
