Associate Director - Digital

£80,0000 - £95,000 / Performance bonus / Yearly bonus + Hybrid Working: Depending on experience. This is a key position within our business; we are looking for the right individual to help continue to grow our Digital Service capability and offering across our i3works business.

Overview:

The role of the Digital team is to provide value to customers through capabilities and services centred around the Government Digital Service (GDS) Service Standard and Service Manual. We offer a user-centred approach to designing, developing, and delivering services of all types, but especially digital ones such as software and AI solutions.

The team is consistently looking to review and evolve current ways of working, to drive improvement in efficiency and effectiveness which you will play a part of.

The Associate Director - Digital will be responsible for the operations of the Digital team. You will lead the operational running of the Digital team and will act as the primary interface between sector and other associate directors of the business.

You will also work with customers, projects, third parties such as suppliers and partners, and key stakeholders, to ensure that everyone understands the service and how to consume it - ensuring Digital playbooks, processes, procedures, and information are available and understood by stakeholders to support client and internal engagements.

Ideal candidates will possess relevant qualifications and experience, and be capable of working in high pressure, challenging environments. A background working with/in central government departments will be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the Digital team
  • Ownership of the Digital strategy, with updates briefed to the SLT and other i3Works teams
  • Partnering with sector and service heads from across the business to ensure that the service is meeting business needs
  • Routine reporting on service performance, including the identification of performance issues and escalation to senior leadership
  • Oversight of the operation of the Digital capabilities and competencies framework and associated training requirements

Skills and capabilities:

Essential

  • Extensive experience in a digital leadership role where you have led and driven a user-centred culture
  • Track record of successfully designing, developing, and delivering services aligned to the GDS Standard and processes
  • Experiencing of engaging with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
  • Excellent communicator, influencer, and collaborator
  • Understanding of IT and technology (ideally within a public sector environment)
  • Have previously held Security Clearance and capable of receiving it again

Desirable:

  • Central government department experience
  • Experience of taking new services to market
  • Experience of using and deploying AI productivity tools 
  • Experience of bidding particularly for public sector contracts
